About Bryant Dowdell

A resident of Staten Island, New York, Bryant Dowdell earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Wagner College. As a sophomore in college and high school, Bryant Dowdell of Staten Island, New York played on championship-winning football teams. Earlier in his career, he spent six years serving as the assistant director of the Police Athletic League Beacon Program at I.S. 2 Egbert middle School in Staten Island. Bryant Dowdell serves as a correction officer with the NYC Department of Correction and is assigned to the Special Operations Division. Stationed on Rikers Island, he is responsible for escorting inmates out of the facility safely to various locations where they perform work detail. He supervises inmates as they perform tasks and teaches them how to operate motorized and conventional tools. Enthusiastic about astronomy, Mr. Dowdell stays informed about advances in astrophysics and space travel. He has a keen interest in exploring the planet Mars, the construction of new spacecraft, and unmanned missions to explore outer space.
